When we reflect on things that had happened in our lives we can say that there is a point wherein we really need to utter these two simple words “Thank you.” It may be simple but it’s difficult to utter. Why? It’s because we should bear in mind that even though you said these words a thousand times to a person, it’s useless if there’s no sincerity or the will to say thank you.

Gracias, thank you, there are a million ways to say thank you. And of course there are so many people we should show our gratitude, respect and love. First of all, is our Almighty Father, miracles do happen when you believe. We should not only thank Him because of the gifts we receive, we should also thank Him for all the blessings He gave you and your family. Another is our parents who are always there to support us. There’s this instance that we are shy to say thank you or sorry to our parents. But then we can show them that we love them by showing respect or just that simple kiss and hug is worth a thousand smiles to them. Next in line are our teachers who are our heroes. It’s their dedication to their jobs as teachers that push them to do everything just to train us for us learn and chase our dreams in the future. I know that one of their wishes is that they will see us in the future as successful men and women and not to forget that they have been part of our journey to be in such positions. And of course our best friends, true friends, “tol”, siblings and others we should thank them also. They are our inspirations and they influence us with good things and sometimes they remind us that we need to fight in a way that we should stand up for ourselves.

Expressing our gratitude to others is the start of having a deeper relationship with them and to remind every person that they deserve chances especially to those who are enemies. Let us remember that even though you have the highest position in the world you have to say thank you to those who guided you on your way to your success.

An Old Man’s Wish

There’s this old man gazing at a star

Wishing that his present for Christmas is not a material

But his family that are miles afar

Someone knocked on his door

A man dressed like a king with a car on the old man’s ports

The old man said, “Where are you from and what do you need?”

Let’s just say that Santa’s here

Like Santa I’m here to grant your wish

Now come with me and your dream will be a reality..

As sweet as chocolates and as mild as the wind

Like a snap an old man’s wish came true

He’s tears flooded the house too.

For him he’s a bird flying

Now he’s sitting not in a pot of gold

But a house of joy

To Bloom or To Wilt

A person is like a flower that blooms when he knows something and wilts when all that he knows is just a quarter of something that is known by a person who is studying. Since we where a toddler until now, we should enhance what we know, and add things that we don’t know. Reading or simply studying is important for every child in this world.

“Reading maketh a full man; conference a ready man and writing an exact man,” thus said by Francis Bacon, philosopher. A simple quotation but has lot to explain. Why is reading important to us students? Reading enhances our vocabulary. If we read, we learn something; it may be a lesson, a new word, a quote or a line that inspires us. Reading transports us to new dimensions. Why new dimensions? This means that through reading we learn, and the information will help us to be ahead, and through reading we are brought to other countries. For example, how are we going to communicate to other foreign people, if the only language we know is the dialect that we used in the province? To know how to speak in a different language like English, we are confident to deal with other people. In the modern world, we have different references that help us in our studies like newspapers, magazines, internet and the like. Why waste our time playing the computer when there are stocks of books in the house that we can read? But it doesn’t mean that we are going to just read and read and read all the time.  “All work and no play makes a person a dull boy.” For me, I am having a nice time playing the computer during weekends. Let us remember that there’s time for everything.

To bloom or to wilt, to be serious with our studies is important. The success of every person starts with a small seed, then the bud and when the flower bloom, that’s the time that we can say that, we already achieved our goals. A flower will not bloom if there’s no water, sun, and carbon dioxide, a person will not be successful without the aid of education.
